SHOCKING: ANOREXIA TURNED HER INTO “CREATURE” (VIDEO)

She was one of the most beloved journalist in her country. For years she presented for Greek TV show Showbiz.  Last year she struggled with anorexia and this is the result of that battle.  Now she is a radio producer. And you can see why. SUCH a tragedy.

WE LOVE YOU MISS HANNIGAN!!

In honor of the revival of “Annie” on broadway and the casting of Jane Lynch as Miss Hannigan, I can’t help but want to share my adoration for the original Miss Hannigan, the incomparable Carol Burnett.

Keep in mind, I am in no way comparing these two amazing women in filling the role of the famously lush orphanage keeper. I am merely compelled to remind you of the genius that is Carol’s performance that was captured in the film.

I have no doubts that Jane will be simply amazing!  I even just took a listen to tonights’ episode’s recording of Little Girls as performed by none other than her character “Sue Sylvester”. And it completely makes sense to her role and to the marketing of her chaarcter on Broadway.

take a listen:

Some directors may see this role as an evil villain. But something was sparked when Carol stepped into the shoes of Miss Hannigan. She made you love to hate her. Perhaps it’s the performance, perhaps it’s the writing or a combination of both.  Whatever it is I’m sure you can agree that it’s fresh, it’s sassy, it lingers and Carol did amazing at it, and I’m sure Jane will do the same.

One thing we can all say for the women that play this role the right way is that,

WE LOVE YOU MISS HANNIGAN!!

By the way here is some foreshadowing if I have ever seen one: Jane and Carol singing the duet , “Ohio” on Glee:

Beards Keep You Young, Healthy & Handsome, Says Science

Gentlemen, they’re not just for hipsters and the homeless any more. While both dead sexy and totally awesome, beards are also a boon to your overall health. Researchers discovered that men with beards and moustaches actually enjoy numerous benefits including, but not limited to, instant handsomeness.

A study from the University of Southern Queensland, published in the Radiation Protection Dosimetry journal, found that beards block 90 to 95 percent of UV rays, thereby slowing the aging process and reducing the risk of skin cancer. Got asthma? Pollens and dust simply get stuck in that lustrous facial hair. Additionally, all that hair retains moisture and protects against the wind, keeping you looking young and fresh-faced. What’s more, shaving is usually the cause of ingrown hairs and bacterial infections that lead to acne.

Have you tossed your razor in the trash yet?

To conduct the study, researchers left bearded mannequins, along with less attractive, follically-challenged ones, in the blistering sun of the Australian outback and then compared the amount of radiation absorbed by each.

But don’t forget to take care of those blessed follicles; beards can also spread infection if not properly cared for and make consumption of certain foods (e.g. cheeseburgers, corn on the cob, falafel sandwiches—anything with hummus actually, bagel ‘n’ schmear, syrupy pancakes) rather laborious. Fuzzy-faced men would be wise to take advantage of beard wash and beard oil, essential tools for looking and feeling your beardy best.

SMASH -- Season:1 -- Pictured: (l-r) Katharine McPhee as Karen Cartwright, Megan Hilty as Ivy Lynn --

Who Sang It Better? “Don’t Forget Me” from Smash

And so… it was finally opening night for “Bombshell” on NBC’s Smash. And the signature song “Don’t Forget Me” (written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman) was featured yet again.

It made its first appearance in the season 1 finale (where you can see everyone just as moved by Karen’s performance as much as Ivy’s)

Now the question is, who do you think sang it better?

Meet The New Flintstones…

While Looney Toons may have had the (arguably) greater cultural impact, Hanna-Barbera’s after-school and Saturday morning cartoons were the animated cels of childhood: mad-cap escapades of giant talking animals, spaceships, and teenage crime-busting, all consistently told through the iconic cartoon trope of running from one side of the screen to the other and back again. Van Eaton Galleries tribute to Hanna-Barbera is showing through April 20th, 2013 in Sherman Oaks, California with art available for purchase.

Being Bert Stern: The Life of a Photographer, Pioneer, and Provocateur

Marilyn Monroe, “The Last Sitting,” 1962.

“[Marilyn] went off into the bathroom and changed, and came out, lifted up one of the layers so that you could see through it, and she said, ‘How’s this for 36?’”
The scar apparent on her stomach is from a gall-bladder surgery that the actress underwent earlier the same year.

The tables have turned on famed bad-boy photographer Bert Stern in Bert Stern: Original Madman, a documentary directed by Shannah Laumeister, a filmmaker who, like many of the women in Bert’s life, began a love affair with the photographer through the lens of his camera.
