  1. As a barber and a barbershop owner I personally feel embarrassed when people get these cuts. They look half done and have shadow lines all over the fades. As far as the side razor parts I think they look creepy. Not to mention they require lots of maintance and up keep. I can’t tell u how many times customers have returned to change the style after they realize the upkeep involved along the the cost of product it takes. Check out my shop on Facebook @ Ellet barbershop

    Thanks. Ron

    1. Absolutely. Most of these are Unblended garbage. I can’t believe someone like David beckham would walk around with such a bad haircut.

      1. I love all the dick head comments. “Why would you get that hair cut?” “That hair cut is stupid!” Christ. Who died and made all these people Ruler of Haircuts. and NEWSFLASH: Some people have a sense of style for themselves and don’t depend on whether Tom, Dick or Harry thinks it’s “cool”.

    2. It’s basically the bowl cut making a come back, minus the center part! Never thought I’d see the day… But welcome a nice change to barber styles:) *Tami

    3. Hey Ron, don’t get so bent out of shape about this. Hair is a form of artistic expression, just as fashion is. New trends will never ever suit everyone’s taste, but just appreciate it as someone’s creativity at work, and ultimately for how the person feels wearing it. Yes there are fundamental rights and wrongs, but those fades are meant to be extreme and imperfect. Since there aren’t styles left to invent, there must be experimentation and variations of old ones, and the shadow lines and use of extreme disconnection are just that. I’m sorry that it’s not your cup of tea, but no need to insult someone else’s, it comes off uptight and close-minded.

      1. I’m a huge believer in contempt prior to investigation and that’s why my comment was based on experience vs opinion. To classify me as close minded is very comical to me but i will take it as a compliment bc I have lots of experience doing these Hipster cuts. I hate stereotypes but 9times out of 10 they are correct. I’m sure if I had a picture of u it would completely confirm the imge you’ve painted in my head based on ur comment. As far as my grammar goes it’s not the best and that’s y I’m a barber not an English geek

    4. What sort of upkeep beyond regular styling do these cuts involve? What kind of hair cut do you have? These are pretty dope, so must disagree. They’re like rat pack meets indie.

    5. I tool a look at your page on facebook, Ron, and I couldn’t help and notice how easy and fast your cuts are. Your shop looks like something in the corner of and old building that people have forgotten about. Clean off your sign and get some fresh blood in there because you need it. You can not compare such different ideas as OPINION and EXPERIENCED. Other than opinion its called PREFERENCE!! Your “PREFERENCE” is old, dull, dated, and dusty.. Just because something is different you act like your allergic to it. Keep up the same old haircut, buddy. Everyone over 80 will love it..

    6. obviously these style are for ppl with thick hair. you have a peak, shave the peak away. i have thick hair and it looks good 🙂

    7. Actually, Ron Depending on your hair type they don’t need any maintenance at all. You can just get up, shower and go. I don’t spend a buck on my hair. People probably kept coming back to you because you probably can’t cut hair very well. Advertise your shitty barbershop elsewhere.

      1. Did u really just say people keep Coming back to me bc I can’t cut hair well and tell me to advertise my shitty shop else wear. That makes no sense that people would return again and again and again if I wasn’t at least above average. U clearly didn’t take a look at my shop bc any barber would take one look at it and could clearly tell that the passion of barbering and respect for the trade was put into creating this shop. Just remember their out 2 types of barbers out their today barbershop owners and barbers who work for barbershop owners u clearly will always fall under the barbers who work for barbershop owners and I have to thank barbers who work for such owners like myself bc u pay my bills

    8. This is how my hair is cut, and I literally get about 10 compliments on my hair a day. I could care less what Ron thinks, the functioning world seems to love it.

    9. Ron – help me out (seriously) When I look at your Facebook page it appears these razor fade are the predominant cut featured (most performed by Charles, I believe). Can you tell me the difference between the cuts your barbers are providing and the cuts featured on this page. And assuming your cuts are different, how would a patron communicate this type of cut to his barber? Thanks in advance

  2. If your barber is shaving in your part line, he has no business being a barber. That shit is way too much, it looks more like a weird scar.

  3. ALL men? Scrolling down the page, my reaction was “Looks good, looks good, looks good, annnnnd I’m already bored.”

Not to mention my type of hair wouldn’t even remotely be able to pull that off, it gets old after you see only a few of them.

  4. Funny you say women are even getting these haircuts. I don’t think I saw any in your post. Sorry, but it’s def a man’s cut unless you’re Miley Cyrus.

  5. I think its a sexy hair style. Every one seems to get the razor cut now’a days, or the spiked up bangs. This is different. Deff. think its a nice change from what I usually see on guys.

    1. It’s called an undercut. Hitler youth is just a high fade parted with a little disconnection, or not. When it’s disconnected all around it’s an undercut.

  6. really? all men should get this? however not all men are represented in this equally? i counted 27 caucasion men… 2 black men and 1 korean man.So this is something im supposed to run out and do to my hair when the examples given barely give me an idea of what i would look like as an affrican american male.

  7. Usin my old bro’s computer. I’m out of town bored/ reading this, n I think the hairstyle’s not so great… I realy dislike that ickii, thick, semi-Mohawk look. Looks like a lady’s vag. Not very cute in a masculine way, in my opinion. Sorry. Go hard (bald) or go hairy.

  8. No thank you. Aside from looking goofy, and nothing like the “dapper ‘dos” of the 40s, this would never work for someone like me with natural loose or ringlet curls. Sorry, but I don’t want the fro-hawk this would turn out to be on me, and I don’t want the embarrassment of looking back in 15 years and seeing myself with the mullet of 2013/14.

  9. It’s actually called a pompadour. Don’t take styling advice from a barber. They cut one haircut 98% of the time. I have it. Girls love it. Visit a stylist to get it done otherwise stop whining. If you don’t like it, don’t do it to yourself but you don’t need to critisize others.

  10. If you notice the cut and and style, 99% of the above have a very GQ look with very strong and defined facial structure. Although the they look great and can pull it off, it would be like saying “The Bob! ALL girls should get it”. You have to have a pretty structured face to pull this off and most importantly, an unruly texture of hair. Beckman however; can pull it off quite well! Lol

  11. If you notice the cut and and style, 99% of the above have a very GQ look with very strong and defined facial structure. Although they look great and can pull it off, it would be like saying “The Bob! ALL girls should get it”. You have to have a pretty structured face to pull this off and most importantly, a rule and workable texture head of hair. Beckman however; can pull it off quite well! Lol

  12. It’s meant to be disconnected and well”out of the box”, a twist of new on an old style.Let’s not forget the basics, if a guest is un happy with a particular cut, you as a stylist or barber might want to think about a better consultation, give your advice and professional creative ideas to customize the haircut to the needs and likes.Best way to run a business is happy guest and being able to provide your guest with a variety of options.Even if YOU don’t like the cut.

  13. So can we see that style with a person with thin hair (not balding but naturally thin)? Can this actually be pulled off well? Also with the comment on ringlets/curly hair, not sure this is doable. Going to consult both my folks tomorrow and their hair team that are stylists too (not a joke either).

    1. You write this as if this is a lawsuit and you are consulting with your lawyers. Take it easy yea? For the people that are bold enough to try this, it will look good… Of course there will be a derivative of the style since every person in the world has different hair types.

  14. We have been doing this haircut for a year her in Norway – Stryn. A very cool cut, but old news for us. And sadly an easy cut for our costumers to do at home……

  15. OMG this is a great hair style…
My client loved his haircut I gave him the hardline with the natural hairline fade he said this is that best haircut he ever had. And it’s easy to maintain that if you know how to cut it the right way and if you are a great hair dresser educate your client. It’s what I do and I do it good.

  16. So if i have to get this hair style , what should be my instruction to the barber ? (specially for the side part) Any specific numbers to mention for the trimmer ?

  17. Fabulous range of SUGGESTIONS for those who are interested. Seriously, was looking up cuts for my hubby, never seen such a lot of negative comments (not all), it’s a choice people. Thanks Damian for taking the time to put this together, He’s off my hairdresser with a selection of images to discuss how and if they will suit him. (He was looking for a change before you all start suggesting I nagged him into it). We giggled at the comments re Hitler youth. If she says not for him, he will carry on with his old style because, d’ya know what? It’s a choice!

    1. LOL, no you wouldn’t. Women instantly get dry at the thought of a balding guy. Bald men get ZERO respect. Not only would you have a hard time with the ladies you’d also be humiliated by society as its the ONLY medical condition that acceptable to ridicule and ONLY if its a balding guy; women are exempt!

  18. “All men” is a little strong. The world would be pretty boring if all men had the same haircut. I have had variants of this one since last summer but will probably change come fall, as it will be too common in my area by then for my taste (this is actually more of a last year trend, sort of old news, but a lot of areas are just catching on to it now.) Not super into “all swept back” version of it myself, I wear it a little more like a pompadour. It is a difficult one for a lot of barbers/stylists to blend correctly, and if you’re a “shower and go” kind of guy, this style is not for you. You have to actually use a little product and style it correctly, but if you’re used to styling this is actually pretty low-maintenance compared to a lot of other longer styles. Apparently this year’s style that is on all the male models (meaning it will soon be on citizens because it seems to start there for guys’ styles) is actually fringe/bangs–don’t know if I will try that trend out later this year or not! It seems like such a teenage thing to me. And will take a lot more pain-in-the-butt styling in my opinion.

  19. Barbering is an art in its self. I really like this look.. I think men should dig a bit deeper in their pockets and have their hair cut more often lol 🙂
