      1. yes ……. i disagree with this hair cuts that will look good on all men ……… these are the in fashion thing to do for now,,,,, i remembered when that emo long haired boys that looked like girls were the in’styles when i was in my teen years …….

    1. 30 pictures and you put 1 photo of a black guy on here? God I am sick of this kinda crap. Why not just put “the haircut all white men should get” at least it’d be honest.

      1. because you would complain about that as well. Sorry that this doesn’t apply to black men as much, maybe we should have made a segregated post. Oops I meant a special post just for black guys.

      2. LOL exactly – they found the one Black man who processed his hair in order to make it straight enough to get that haircut… Most Black men are not doing this.. You mostly see Black women and a very small percentage of gay Black men who will process their hair to make it straight…
It is sickening to read a headline like this

      3. Jonny D, it is the title of the article that I think Robby had offense with.. this indeed is NOT a haircut that ALL men should get

      4. There are white, asian, middle eastern, black, and hispanic men in this collection Robby. Step back and take a breath.

      5. i highly doubt race was a concern in this. its a hairstyle. maybe not many black guys are into the hairstyle or maybe the specific photographer didnt have any other black people to photograph.

      6. You need to consider two things:

1: Your natural hair dictates how difficult or costly it will be to get a haircut like this.
2: Last time I checked, African Americans are a minority with around 12% of the US population. (I’ll break it down for you since you seem simple minded: That’s about 1 in about every 10 Americans).

Given these two facts, were lucky to see someone black even on this page. One out of thirty is WELL within the statistical probability, you fucking wanker.

P.S. I sure as hell hope you aren’t some oversensitive, white, reverse-discriminatory mess of which seem to be taking over our states lately. Most black people reading your comment are probably face-palming.

      7. BITCH, BITCH, BITCH… Why is race always an issue. Maybe because black men don’t want shitty hipster haircuts.

      1. PEOPLE!!! There is one black guy but he had to straighten his hair in order to be included in this collection of photographs of a hairstyle that ALL MEN should get… sorry this hairstyle is NOT made for ALL men..

      2. Isnt this basically a fade? So no black people take the sides in close and leave the top long….sigh, everybody is so quick to make it a thing….its a good haircut for 90% of guys all races included regardless of what processing is involved, stfu….race is a social construct you perpetuate

  1. one problem with your post is that it represents men of only one look; straight-ish hair, long & narrow-faced. I’m a guy with curly hair and it would be nice to see styles that are well represented with that in mind. And what about guys with oval or rounder faces? Just sayin’

    1. Thanks for the reply. I think that this post is a general one, and does not particularly try to represent any specific hair type, but a more all around look and feel that the 40’s dapper look is in fact trending and looks smart and sexy. But if you are looking for inspiration on a customized look for curly hair, I found this post that may assist in creating this amazing hairstyle! Curly Dapper Look

      Hope that helps Lino!

    2. A tighter cut for the sides of your head could actually make your head more oval because there’s not as much hair there to make it wider, either a tighter cut or a squared silhouette cut would be good for round faces/heads, plus this haircut is very stylish right now and looks good on almost any guy, it even hides a slightly receding hairline 🙂

      1. What about a style of this for those of us that have a slight recession? I keep my hair pretty short and like it that way around the sides and back. But have been thinking about going a little longer on top. I’d like to just push it back with my fingers and cut down on heavier products.

    1. someone sounds slightly bitter… also, I am in my twenties and while I would not personally rock this cut, 95% of the men I know in my age group (including myself) have the capacity to do so. If you are suggesting that 80% of men don’t have enough hair to do this after puberty, you are mistaken.

      1. Aw man, I live in San Francisco. We have a place in Queens though, might go there this January, depending on the weather. Would you happen to know any that may have a branch here in SFO? Thanks!

    1. @DH I just moved from SF and look up Nikki the Barber. He is the master at these cuts and that is a fact. His cell is 415.368.7889

      1. @DH I live in San Francisco and I am one of the guys in photos. Chansa at Salon Baobao does my hair!

  2. Interesting, I had a similar hairstyle for close to 20 years, needed a change, so I started growing my hair five years ago. NOW you tell me my 90’s and 00’s style should be what everyone should get??????AAaaaghhh!!!
Ha! Nice blog by the way.

    1. It got your attention, didn’t it? It made you think about your hairstyle right? This is merely my blog and my taste that I am sharing with people. My blog post is certainly not law.

    1. It’s pretty commonly known as the “Macklemore” hair cut:) haha or a disconnected hair cut because there’s such a drastic disconnection of lengths

  3. hi I have straightish wavy hair shaved on one side , I was wondering if the guy with the cigarette hairstyle would suit my hair type????????

  4. Most of these would be considered an “undercut” and is more reminiscent of the 1920 Prohibition Era, like Jimmy from Boarwalk Empire, or 1930 “hitler youth”. Long on top, shaved on sides.

The 1940s style is more long and slicked back like Don Draper, or with a pomp like Johnny Cash.

The side-part/combover/gentlemen’s haircut/pompadour, etc has been big with the greaser/rockabilly subculture for a long time.

    1. Thank you! I was looking at these pictures thinking all of the same things. This is not a 1940s, gentlemen’s cut. And, whenever I see the shorter variations of this all I can think is Nazis. It’s a sad, but true, fact of history. As a female, I do not find this cut to be attractive at all. Sorry guys.

  5. I don’t have anything with this cut but it’s gotten stale at this point. Too many way too many men have this cut and I live in Romania! I find it difficult to identify with really short hair, or really long hair. I could look good on some people bad on others.

  6. But what about the oval or round faces? Not all types of face looks good on this style. Because in my case I have round face and don’t like how looks.

  7. misleading title, i wouldnt get haircut like that. i dont think thats rebellious/smart/sporty/whatever it is. its pretty much all the same with the side cut and WITH only different styling..and also it doesnt suit those with chubby or round face.

  8. I keep wanting to get this kind of haircut but can’t commit for a few reasons. 1st my mom and dad who are very cool and fashionable as well as hairdressers both say I dont look good in really short hair. Funny thing is, is that ive even had a few girlfriends tell me the same thing. 2nd, almost all of these guys have sideburns or facial hair. I cant grow sideburns to save my life, so when I go short it ends up looking like an 80s military high and tight. Guess I’ll grow my bangs out super long and just go for it.

  9. I see a lot of these guys have oblong heads. I’ve always read that the “best” haircut for a person with a longer face is something that makes their head “shrink,” so longer sides and not too tall on top. Do you agree with that or do you find those rules arbitrary? Also, I have a good head of hair but a prominent forehead, do you think that matters much with which style is better? Any tips are appreciated. Thanks a lot!

  10. What a waste of interweb space of a post. The hairstyle is irrelevant to do with the actual focal of the article. At least be honest and just write a post celebrating chiselled jawline & high cheekboned milan runway-type-6’1-size32-edgy-caucasian look.

The truth is that they can make anything look good. The blogger should have either made some real effort in illustrating diverse types men with different facial structure, race and age, not cover models who probably have featured at GQ and Details. LIke every trendy haircuts, an average peasant will not look like that no matter how closely they emulate it.

  11. Must be nice to have NEVER lost a hair follicle in your life to be able to do your hair this way. Most dudes don’t have that kind of hair nor the hair itself. Obviously pointing out how sad medical science is that in 2014 we STILL haven’t already solved the hair loss problem and moved on to other things…

  12. I am the Founder & CEO of MyKlipsPics App- Your favorite haircuts, at your fingertips.. Coming to app store soon. Follow us on instagram @ MyKlips_Pics to be informed of when we launch!

  13. I question the “all men should get this haircut” comment. Every one of these guys is a 20 something, at least not over 35. How would this look on a 50, 60, or 70 year old with thinning hair? Get real!

  14. I hate all you black racists pricks. And your bigomest views. Its an opinion obviously so shove your white hating racists ass shit up someone’s ass who gives a shit.

  15. It’s not all “White” men, its a general opinion piece, possibly by a “White” man, (Which is slightly racists referring to someone by skin color” The point of the article is to broaden the horizons about what hair styles are becoming more popular. Just like “black” men tend not to get their haircut by “white” men or women and vice versa. Both races have different types of hair. Hence why most “white” people tend to write about popular hair styles for “white” men/women and vice versa. It’s in no way shape or form a racist article because it only has one “black/hispanic/green/yellow” man in it.

  16. It’s a shame that most of these are even being considered decent haircuts. The blends are terrible, lines everywhere! If a barber in my shop did such poor work they would being looking for new place to work.

  17. Hipster are not new… They clam to be org. but how can you be org. if everyone else dresses the same as you.. I cut my hair 50’s style shaved up slicked back I been drinking PBR last 10 years I have bread & like beanies have dressed this way for many years… Now a bunch a kids in tight pants do the same & its a style.. fucking stupid. Hipsters came to be from french styles of the early 90’s in modeling. Kids in England start wearing skinny jeans then mixed the styles… But you can’t convince the U.S. ”Hipster” of that oh no they are Org. in every way… Yeah cuz you know the whole handlbar stash has never been done before & that hair cut is just so org. pretty sure the working man of the 1920’s to 40’s had that hair cut. Nothing about Hipster is org. yet they clam it an org. style & trend… NEWS FLASH STYLES & TRENDS ARE NOT ORG. CUZ IF ITS A TREND MEANS MORE THAN JUST A FEW PEOPLE ARE DOING IT. So in the end its a made up fashion made by fashion company’s to make more money.. That’s why the Gap & Banana Republic & other chain stores have changed the style of clothes they sell.. Hipster “Style” cost more.. I did a two year study on fashion in college & not one person disagrees with what I’m saying that knows how the fashion industry works. Every 10 years or so a new “trend” pops up more expensive than the last. People who fall for these trends are Sheepole & are no way org. at all. Maybe my professor at UC Berkeley is wrong but what does he know after working for Calvin Cline for over 15 years. ( whatever happend to just dressing how you want & being ones self ) Is it really that awesome to be like others..??

  18. Lighten up people! It’s a blog, an opinion. And a damn good one at that. if you don’t like it, move on. Thanks Damian.

  19. LOL EVERYONE HAS THIS HAIRCUT NOW….MAY STILL LOOK GOOD BUT NOW ITS JUST TOO TRY HARD..BE MORE ORIGINAL PLEASE…YOU KNOW ITS TIME FOR SOMEONE TO START A NEW WHEN THEIR ARE ARTICLES LIKE THESE WRITTEN FOR HAIR RETARDS THAT DIDNT KNOW ABOUT THIS SAY BACK IN 08-09..PLUS YOULL FEEL BETTER…MAY AS WELL BE ME

  20. Oooooooooooooo k. This site alone has official turned me into a racists. I am sick to death of everything a white does being turned into something that could have been racist. holy shit people there are things that make white people and black people different. Jesus fking Christ who’d a thunk it!? why are you fking ignorant spear chuckers so concerned with making literally everything “black”. we literally are tip toeing around social incongruencies to try to show you that we care and people like the niger slave pieces of shit on this post take it way to far and create a monster like me. This is what you want isn’t it? some one to hate: a white devil slave branding southern land owner like me

    1. Oh… and just so we’re clear where I live, everyone from age 12- death and of every race uses “nigga” to mean brother or person of acquaintance of which you get along well with. I have friends of all races. just do me a favor and let me know where you at… so I don’t ever go to your city where obviously blacks are some white hatin mother fuckas

  21. Damn this comment thread has an unusual amount of morons posting on it.. Why would anyone get offended by a blog post about a hairstyle? People have waaaaaay too much time on their hands. This cut has it’s roots in military hair styles because of the length but the point is to modernize it by adding a bit of contemporary flair, be it the length on top, type of fade on the sides, or rocking it with thick black hair (i.e. African-American, Middle Eastern, etc) or Curly/Wavy hair, obviously not everyone is going to look as good as others but for those that have the confidence to atleast try it, respect to you! Style isn’t about any ONE thing in particular but how the individual expresses it all as a whole and incorporates it all into his aura/energy/appearance/identity/personality/presentation. Have some confidence guys! Also, those that claim that older men can’t rock this, you’re dead wrong, it was older men who created this hairstyle originally and Nickelson Wooster is over 40 and he’s one of the first gentlemen featured and pioneered the style that this hairstyle compliments.

    1. I how crazy people get when commenting on this blog.
One even goes on to say he is trying to make people get this “Nazi hair cut”.

Like, maybe Hitler had cute hair.
Just cause he was insane and only had one testicle shouldn’t persuade someone against this hair cut.

Personally the cut reminds me of New Kids on the Block ❤

I may only be twenty one but I love that band 🙂

  22. Lol @ the race complaints. If a blog that shows all black men tapers and ONE white man who can actually pull a taper off with his type of hair, not a single white man would comment about “only being one white man” stop crying and continue to complain about race this race that, those type of comments are exactly why they will never stop.

    1. Seriously? Fag***? Dude, seriously. Fuck you. Go somewhere else with your fear word. It only represents how ignorant and afraid you are of your own sexuality and identity. Who the hell uses that word now anyway??!

      Loser.

      1. I use it. I have gay friends who use the word fag. It doesn’t represent anything. It’s just a word. You stupid Fagot.

  23. OMG how funny. I’ve been taking one of the photos in this article around to different hair salons and so far 3 out of 3 stylist told me “this is just an ugly hairstyle, and it’s just a bowl cut”. How in the hell is this a bowl cut. I grew up in the 90’s, I know what a bowl cut is and this isn’t it.
